Here’s three ways a Solarstream heat pump water heater can save you money
  1. The Australian Government is currently offering a rebate of $600 to install a solar system like a Solarstream heat pump water heater. This is to help eligible home-owners, landlords or tenants to replace their electric storage hot water systems with energy efficient systems. The offer is part of the Government’s Energy Efficient Homes Package which came into effect on 3 February 2009. (Refer to the key criteria below for eligibility).
  2. A Solarstream heat pump water heater is a smart operator, by saving you money on your power bills plus reducing your household’s greenhouse gas emissions. Water heating is actually the largest single source of greenhouse gas emissions from the average Australian home, (excluding the family car) accounting for around 25% of home energy use. Installing a Solarstream heat pump water heater can save your family up to $700 off your energy bills each year!
  3. Want to save even more? Some Australian States offer additional State Solar Rebates to eligible applicants ranging from $300 to $1000. Find out more.
Federal solar rebates – are you eligible?

Full details of eligibility are provided in the guidelines. Key criteria are listed below.

  • Rebates are only available to people who have not previously received assistance to install ceiling insulation through the Home Insulation Program or the Homeowner Insulation Program at the same address.
  • The system must replace an existing electric storage hot water system.
  • An owner-occupier, landlord or tenant can apply for the rebate as long as the dwelling where the hot water system is installed is a principal place of residence.
  • The system must be installed and certified by a suitably qualified person (for example an electrician and/or plumber).
IMPORTANT CHANGE: Please make note that applications for the Solar Hot Water Rebate must be submitted within four months (122 days) after an eligible system is installed.
