Small-Scale Technology Certificates (STCs):

Siddons delivers Renewable Energy Technology, as sure as night and day.

The purchase and installation of a Siddons Solarstream heat pump water heater entitles you to Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs) – formerly known as Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs).

From 1 January 2011 the Renewable Energy Target will be split into the Large-scale Renewable Energy Target (LRET) and the Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme (SRES).

How to receive reimbursement for your STCs or LGCs

Option 1:

An STC agent will offer you a financial benefit such as an up-front discount or delayed cash payment when you assign your STCs or LGCs to them. For assistance in trading your Certificates, Siddons Solarstream recommend Greenbank Environmental – the largest independent trader of STCs in Australia. (NB: The financial benefit supplied to you by an agent, or the total price given to you by a certificate broker/trader, can vary from day to day.)

Option 2:

You create the STCs yourself once your system is installed, and sell and transfer them in the ORER-managed STC Clearing House. You will not receive a financial benefit for STCs from the retailer or installer on the purchase and/or installation of your system as you do not assign your STCs to them. (NB: STC price is fixed is if it is to be traded through the ORER-managed STC Clearing House. Prices of STCs are fixed at $40 (excluding GST), regardless of what the STC market is doing.)

Claiming STCs for Commercial Installations

When using a Solarstream heat pump water heater in commercial applications, multiple units may be purchased and STCs will be awarded at the rate of equivalent domestic units as per zoning in the table above.

The normal procedure would be followed to trade your STCs.
